Description

I had already captured this intriguining PN with my MK809 long time ago with not exhalting result but, given its altitude from Lincoln, that wasn't too surprising. So I gave it another try with the remote iDK from Namibia. This time the results are more satisfying and I got the colours right. I processed the image in two different ways; the image to the left is done through my normal workflow, inclusive of contrast and details enhancements, using the "standard" processing tools included in PI while the one to the right has the same basic processing BUT using RC's BlurXterminator (BX) instead of my standard processing procedure for details enhancement. Otherwise the two share the same stretching and colour calibration.

To my eye the one NOT using BX is truer to the PN appearance as seen through higher resolution imagery than the one with BX but I leave you to be the judge...
